The procedures for filing a Notary Public Bond are as follows:
You must have a $10,000 Notary Public Bond. You will need to provide identification and proof of residency if you do not have a Nevada ID.
$20.00 filing fee is required. Filing fees must be paid by cash, check or money order payable to the County Clerk.

When the bond has been presented, you must be sworn in as a Notary Public by a Deputy County Clerk or another notary.
The Clerk will prepare the Filing Notice for presentation to the Secretary of State.
The following MUST be forwarded to the Secretary of State together. If any items are missing or incomplete, they will not process your application:

PLEASE NOTE NEW REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE 10/1/07 BELOW:
Effective October 1, 2007, mandatory training will be required for a first time notary public, anyone renewing their appointment as a notary public whose appointment has been expired for a period greater than one year, or anyone renewing an appointment as a notary public who has, during the preceding four years, been fined for failure to comply with a statute or regulation of the State of Nevada. Detailed information is available on the Secretary of State's web site at www.sos.state.nv.us .
Once these items have been received by the Secretary of State, it takes approximately 15 working days to process the Application and return your Commission.
