The Small Business Administration (SBA): The U.S. Small Business Administration provides financial, technical, and management assistance to help business owners and entrepreneurs start, run, and grow their businesses. With a portfolio of business loans, loan guarantees and disaster loans worth more than $45 billion, SBA is the nation's largest single financial backer of small businesses. Last year, the SBA offered management and technical assistance to more than one million small business owners.
 
The Nevada Small Business Development Center: is a partnership program between the University of Nevada, Reno, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Small Business Administration. The Nevada Small Business Development Center assists small business enterprises throughout the state by helping them plan their growth potential and develop and maintain professional management skills.  Each center has full-time professional staff available to provide assistance to individuals interested in starting a small business.  The program also utilizes experience from other available resources including faculty members of the University of Nevada System as well as the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and other private sector volunteers.
 
Nevada Chambers of Commerce:  Links to all the different chambers including the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.   The Chamber has home-based companies, small business operations...all the way up to the largest, most prosperous companies in Southern Nevada. More than 85 percent of the Chamber's membership is made up of small business professionals who employ fewer than 25 people. The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce's member-friendly programs, innovative business and community projects and thousands of members with a common vision make the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce a great business partner for organizations of all sizes.
 
Nevada Development Authorities: This site lists all the offices in Nevada including the office in Las Vegas.  The first point of contact for businesses considering relocating or expanding to Southern Nevada is Nevada Development Authority (NDA). As the area's leading regional development authority, NDA provides the needed resources to evaluate the area - at no cost to the company. NDA, a private, nonprofit organization, coordinates its activities with private businesses as well as state and local government officials. This coordinated effort provides companies with the information, talents and resources needed for evaluating and implementing an expansion or move. Companies can save hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars by utilizing NDA's comprehensive and confidential services.
 
UNLV-The Center for Business & Economic Research:  The Center collects, analyzes, and disseminates information on the economy and businesses of Nevada. They also provide research and analysis services to clients on a contract research basis.
 
Patent, Trademark & Copyright Information: University of Nevada Reno's Business & Government Information Center (BGIC).  Obtaining a patent or registering a trademark can be a complex and expensive undertaking. Applicants can benefit by understanding and using the search tools available on the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office web site, in the BGIC and in other Patent & Trademark Depository Libraries.
 
Secretary of State: Search the commercial recordings database for the names of business entities and their principals.

Better Business Bureau:  Search their database to check out a company or charitable organization, file a complaint, consumer information news and alerts, consumer guidance.
