  Projects of Significance

               Land Use Plan: Complete in 2007 - water/wastewater supply and facilities plan 3x population increase, Promotes business growth

         Economic Development Strategy: industries being sought include renewable energy sites, light industrial/manufacturing and medical services expansion.

         Housing starts: more than 2,200 new rooftops; single family homes, luxury condos and high-rise apartment units scheduled for construction over next 30 months.

         Major recreational assets: costing nearly $35 million they will include trails, parks, fishing areas, a Riverwalk anchor and other improvements along the riverfront in north Laughlin - construction begins in early 2009.

         Key artery and roadway improvements:

  • Needles Highway between Laughlin and I-40 in Needles, CA is ongoing. Approx 14 of 28 miles is finished in this multi-jurisdictional project. Phased construction continues through 2012. 
  • Complete Rehabilitation on Casino Drive, Laughlin's major thoroughfare, is underway. Beautification Special Improvement District formation Expected by late 2009. 
  • Second public bridge between Laughlin and Bullhead City, AZ to be complete by 2013. Funding almost wholly achieved by nV agencies.
