R EGIONAL F RANCHISE J URISDICTIONS 

The Regional Franchise Jurisdictions (RFJ) of Clark County and the Cities of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and Boulder City work together under a cooperative arrangement to administer cable television as well as other franchises within the jurisdictions. All or part of the localities work together for the purposes of administering cable television and ambulance franchises, planning other regulatory activities and combining resources, sharing information and otherwise coordinating their individual franchise and related activities pertaining to public utilities, cable, ambulance, solid waste and other franchised businesses which provide services across the jurisdictional boundaries. The Franchise Services Division coordinates the day-to-day joint regulation activities of the RFJ member entities with the cable and ambulance franchisees and initiates investigations into issues involving franchise compliance.  This Division monitors rule makings of the Federal Communications Commission affecting cable television and telecommunications franchise administration; the Federal Health Care Financing Administration affecting ambulance companies; the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, State Department of Environmental Protection and County Health District affecting solid waste and recycling operations; and other such activities.
