News Release

Independence Day

Clark County Animal Control asks everyone to think of their pets during the Independence Day Holiday. Each year scores of pets are frightened by fireworks. This can cause them to run away from home, subjecting them to injury or worse. If your pet is afraid of fireworks, consult your veterinarian about the possibility of sedation to keep your pet calm. Another alternative is to secure your pet in an interior room of your home such as a bathroom. This will help to muffle any loud sounds and instill a sense of security in your pet.
