During the Holiday Season it is very common to give animals as pets. Unfortunately, unless you are giving this animal to someone within your household it is difficult to insure a good match. An alternative would be to give a gift certificate, if the local shelter does not offer this as an option, prepare a card for the person and make your own certificate. Take the recipient to the shelter and help them pick the pet that is best for them. This will ensure that they obtain the correct pet for their lifestyle.
