Message from the Assistant Recorder, Charles Harvey
The practice of documenting legal land transactions dates back thousands of years. While the method of conveying and recording these transactions has changed over time, the purpose has not.
Since 1909, the office of the Clark County Recorder has been responsible for recording and maintaining official records effecting title to real estate. The first County Recorder, Frank Clayton, began documenting and maintaining a history of land ownership and the chain of title, by recording mining claim locations, deeds, and other official records.
Today, the Recorder’s Office continues to serve as the custodian of land and marriage records that reflect the birth and growth of Clark County.
We are committed to recording and preserving the history of Clark County in an accurate, legible, secure, and accessible manner.
