Steve Sisolak

 Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak is a successful businessman, long-time public servant and active member of the community.

After eight years as a member of the Nevada Board of Regents, Commissioner Sisolak was elected to the county commission, beginning his first term with the county on Jan. 5, 2009.

Commissioner Sisolak was chosen by his fellow commissioners to serve on several local and regional boards including:

• Metropolitan Police Committee on Fiscal Affairs
• Southern Nevada Water Authority Board of Directors
• Big Bend Water District Board of Trustees (chairman)
• Clark County Water Reclamation District Board of Trustees (vice chairman)
• Las Vegas Valley Water District Board of Directors (vice chairman)
• Coyote Springs Water Resources General Improvement District Board of Trustees (vice chairman)
• Debt Management Commission
• Clark County School District Oversight Panel

Prior to joining the county board, Commissioner Sisolak was elected to represent District 7 on the Nevada Board of Regents in 1998 and was re-elected to a second term in 2004. The Board of Regents governs the Nevada System of Higher Education and its eight colleges and universities, which are attended by more than 105,000 students in Northern and Southern Nevada.

While a member of the Board of Regents, Commissioner Sisolak represented the board on many panels and committees including:

Commissioner Sisolak is a co-owner of two companies, American Distributing and Associated Industries. He is also active with business and community groups including:

Commissioner Sisolak received a bachelor’s of science degree in business from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1974. Four years later received a master’s in business administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has two daughters who currently attend UNLV.
